About Merrill

Merrill Everett is every bit as fascinating and intriguing as his glass creations

Merrill Everett graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 1972 with a dual degree in marketing and art. Now, nearly 30 years later, he is the owner of two Fallbrook active businesses, a teacher of ceramics and still involved in his own career as a sculptor.

Merrill Everett was born in Long Beach on March 26, 1950, the child of parents Doris and Grant Everett, who are La Habra residents. He followed up his Cal State Fullerton education by taking a master’s degree from Claremont, worked for a while as a full-time artist and also taught at Orange Coast College. Merrill went on to teach workshops in studio glass at Scripps College, Cal State Fullerton, Orange Coast College, and Palomar College.

Merrill Everett became instrumental in the early Southern California American Studio Glass Movement. In addition to his businesses, his sculpture and his teaching, Everett has been closely involved with the development of the growing Fallbrook art community.

He speaks enthusiastically about the local art scene and its development, calling it reminiscent of an earlier Laguna Beach.
